    The Art Buyer Collective 2026

The Art Buyer Collective: ‘Sympatheia’ Exhibition, August 11th – September 6th

The Art Buyer Gallery welcomes The Art Buyer Collective; a collective of five talented female UK artists exhibiting at the gallery between August 11th – September 6th. The exhibition title ‘Sympatheia’ represents a sense of interconnectedness and harmony between the 5 artists, their place in the world and interconnection with nature. Within these five weeks, the artists will explore what it means to be present in this world through the beauty of landscape and human form. In addition, the collective will be sharing insights into their creative practice through a programme of workshops hosted at The Art Buyer Gallery, more information on this to follow. We’re so excited to present this Summer residency by five wonderful female artists to you this August.

We’re delighted to present ‘Sympatheia’ by Rachel Redfern, Alison Hunt, Jane Pine, Jessica Gale & Nicola Martin.

    Rachel Redfern

Rachel’s artwork is varied and instinctive. Working with oils she draws on photographs, sketches and memories based on her time in nature and the impact of seasons and world events on her daily life and mental health.

    Alison Hunt

Alison’s abstract paintings capture the patterns and shapes she observes in the landscape. She draws inspiration from the wooded landscapes surrounding her home, finding endless fascination in their changing forms.  She lets the paintings develop instinctively letting paint colour & texture guide the outcome.

    Jane Pine

Jane’s practice involves drawing inspiration from her own experiences and relationships, as well as photographs and literary sources. Utilising oil paint on canvas or wood panels, she presents authentic interpretations of the intricate sensitivities that define human nature.

    Jessica Gale

Jessica’s work hovers between representation and abstraction. She is drawn to structure and reduces what she sees to its simplest forms. Colour is central — used instinctively and expressively to evoke the feeling of place.

    Nicola Martin

Ecology and conservation are important to Nicola, and are prominent themes in her work. The message conveyed through her work is a commentary on Nicola’s love of nature and the environment.

The Art Buyer are thrilled to announce ‘Symptheia’ by The Art Buyer Collective; Rachel Redfern, Alison Hunt, Jane Pine, Jessica Gale, Nicola Martin. The collective have chosen their exhibition title to connote what it means to be present in this world through the beauty of landscape and human form.

“Sympatheia is a greek word and a central concept in Stoic philosophy, referring to the idea of a universal connection between all things in the cosmos. It emphasizes the importance of living in harmony with the universal order and recognizing our interdependence. While ancient in origin, the concept of sympatheia remains relevant today, offering a powerful framework for understanding our place in the world and our responsibilities towards others”

“The main thing we were made for is to work with others” Marcus Aurelius
