Nascent 3 by Dorothy Hanna

Working with layers, print artist Dorothy Hanna creates fascinating layered works in rich colour palettes.  Nascent 3 contains layers of re ink emerging from darkness.

Nascent 3 is a monotype print

Monotypes are unique prints, not part of an edition. Dorothy’s images are built slowly, layer upon layer. Colour, shape and pattern are the central elements. She prefers not to use prepared sketches or plans, allowing instead a play between control and spontaneity as she develops the work to completion.
