Lulu Weide is an abstract oil painter from South East London. Her birthplace, London, accompanied by her Swedish maternal roots guide her interest in colour & natural environments within her work. Lulu graduated from the University of Brighton in 2024 with a degree in BA Fine Art Painting, and continues to paint and exhibit from her London-based studio. Her paintings have sold across the UK and continue to be exhibited in gallery spaces. Most notably, the graduates exhibition at the Royal Overseas League of Arts and the Jackson’s Art Prize exhibition.

Lulu is fascinated with the shapeshifting ability of oils. The artist began painting with oils during her mid education years and has continued to work with them throughout University and up to the present day.
Using a combination of oil paint, pastels, and sticks, Lulu’s work mirrors abstracted patterns, motifs & transformations found in nature. Her paintings reference movement in all directions, figurative shapes, indistinct form. Intuition is a crucial part of the artist’s practice; each painting forms a narrative of its own over the course of its making. The artist titles her work last, ensuring that the title and the painting present a united front, often using personal anecdotes or sayings.
