Maria Fletcher’s painting journey started in lockdown, alongside her daughter Lia as Mother Daughter Create.

Maria found that lockdown gave her the time, it gave her the space to create – but having lived all her life in Suffolk, walking in the countryside, sailing the rivers and estuaries, the inspiration started much earlier.

Maria is fascinated by pattern and colour and has a closely observed method. Her brush strokes capture the delightful richness and energy within flowers and the landscape. She is now widely collected in private collections and has shown in London and Suffolk.
