Maggie Cochran

Maggie’s work celebrates her love affair with the beaches and coastline of west Cornwall.

Essentially a landscape painter, Maggie works in an abstracted fashion while retaining a sense of place – capturing light and a sense of the fragility and transience of the natural landscape.

‘I want to bring home that feeling of being on the beach and to hang on to it, so I pour it out in my paintings – those feelings of freedom, joy, energy, serenity and awe at the sheer beauty, power and magnificence of the coastal landscape, whatever the weather.  The more weather, the better.’

Maggie has a Fine Art degree from the University of Chichester and won the Cornwall Life Landscape Painter of the Year 2016.

Maggie’s love of the ocean has led her partner with UK marine conservation charity Sea-Changers.  Through her art she’s committed to help conserve the marine environment that she’s so passionate about.
