Helena is a British contemporary painter, born in 1990 and raised in Norfolk. She moved to London in 2010, where she currently resides. Helena has had a paintbrush in hand most of her life and in 2014 graduated with First Class Honours from her Graphic Design degree at London College of Communication (UAL). It was there she discovered a love for the Constructivist movements of the 1920s including, but not limited to, the Bauhaus and Suprematism. Much to her tutors dismay, Helena barely touched a computer during her Graphic Design degree, instead favouring manual techniques like letterpress, collage and composition focused painting. She enjoys creating works on textured paper or board, but also canvases with oil and acrylic paint, texturised with anything from ash to marble dust to sand. Helena’s work aims to create a balanced, tranquil and calming environment through composition and/or use of colour.
