Eva Ray
Laura (Eva Ray) works in oil pastels and sticks to capture landscapes and botanical studies, drawing expressively through mark making. Inspired by her time living and working as an artist in India, Laura’s work often references these memories from colour palettes and patterns to fresco techniques. The colour story always directs Laura’s work with bold abstract forms and then the patterns that emerge through this process. The oil sticks capture an energy and movement, which is often layered to reveal under layers of colour. Eva Ray studio is named after Laura’s grandparents Eva & Ray and set up on her return from India. Laura studied for her BA in Fine Arts at the University of Liverpool and now works from her studio in Kent.
The Art Buyer Gallery has been been delighted to show Eva Ray’s paintings at The Affordable Art Fair London and hosted her solo exhibition in 2026.
