Andrea Curtis

Andrea Curtis explores colour, pattern and still life through a combination of print, collage and drawing. At first glance, her work appears deceptively simple but look deeper and you see her unique language of marks and colour combinations are given depth and texture by layering of tissue and painted papers.

Still life and flowers have always been favourite subjects. She is fascinated by the stories that can be told simply by a collection of objects. This series of work is a slight departure from previous work as she introduces printed techniques such as linocut and monoprint combined with painting and drawing to create more abstract, contemporary pieces.

Andrea graduated from West Surrey college of art and design in 1987 with a BA in textile design Followed by an MA in printmaking from Newport Art College. She regularly exhibits her work in her home country of Wales and the rest of the UK, and has been commissioned by designers for both domestic and commercial spaces.
