Alexandra Biedrzycki
Alexandra Biedrzycki is a ceramic artist based in Thames Ditton, Surrey, whose stoneware sculptural pieces are inspired by the rhythms and transformations of the natural world. Drawing on the shifting shapes of leaves and trees throughout the seasons and the movement of water, her work explores flow, erosion, growth and change.
Influenced by the rivers that surround her studio — the Thames, Mole and Ember — Alexandra uses glaze as a painterly medium, capturing the depth, reflections and luminosity of moving water. Her hand-built stoneware forms are inspired by the organic structures of leaves, plants and shells found above and below the water’s surface. Forms are shaped slowly by hand, allowing movement to emerge organically. Soft folds, ripples, and undulations express the motion of streams, tides and wind through foliage.
Alexandra was shortlisted for the 2026 CCA Galleries Emerging Artist Award by a judging panel that included esteemed artists Rachel Howard, Bruce McLean and Allen Jones. Her work has been exhibited with The Young Artist Partnership at ‘Synergy’ exhibition Fernleigh Chichester, at Boomer Gallery Tooley Street, Parallax Spring Exhibition Chelsea and at The Handmade Festival Hampton Court, where she was hand selected by Kirstie Allsopp as a featured ‘New Maker.’
